Ignis Lithium aims to build a first 10,000 ton per year (tpy) demonstration plant (Phase 3), followed by a first +100,000 tpy commercial plant by 2030 (Phase 4). (These goals may vary following future industrial partnership*)

Phase 1

Mid-2022 – end of 2024
Pilot trials and primary feedback from OEMs under Li-ion configuration (under validation)

As of 2024, we have recently completed Phase 1 of our development with:

  • Close to 1t cumulative pilot LFP/LMFP ingots produced (5-55 kg batches) using low-cost locally sourced reactants
  • More than 100 kg converted to C-LFP
  • Very positive feedback from OEMs about our C-LFP samples
  • Preliminary techno-economic study from reactants and pilot-scale data

Phase 2

2025 – mid-2027
Optimization of the pilot process at 50 kg/batch scale and scale-up to 1 ton batch for OEM product validation

Leap into our next development phase goals:

  • Pilot optimization at 50 kg/batch scale to illustrate process cost and purity optimization from largely available reactants 
  • Scale-up to 1 t/batch
  • Collaboration with strategic partners able to complement expertise
  • Qualification of precursors and samples specification (C%, BET, PD, PSD, etc.) in agreement with OEMs specifications
  • Detailed engineering and final budget of demonstration (Phase 3) and estimates for commercial plants (Phase 4)
